Hi! I’m glad you found my emerald green website. Like life, it’s a work in progress. There is, however, a handful of potentially useful information here, so read on:

I feel strongly about dessert. I currently work at Eater where I edit a variety of stories and write about cooking, cookbooksrestaurants, pie, and other things.

I used to work for Los Angeles magazine, and also wrote for LA Weekly, before it sort of died. I have 10 years of experience in food-focused journalism. My first book, Beyond the Plate: Top Food Blogs From Around the World was published in 2017.

I’m a graduate of Cornell University, where I studied food history, and the International Culinary Center, where I focused on the pastry arts.

Before I went into journalism, I worked in restaurant kitchens in New York City, Paris, and Los Angeles. I have also worked in product development, public relations, social media, and as a private chef. I currently live in New York City with a fantastic dog named Frito. —Daniela Galarza
